F450 Landing Skid

thingiverse

Landing skid for F450 style quad designed and built with precision. Created using OpenSCAD software, the latest version is always available on GitHub at https://github.com/beckdac/f450_landing_skid. For the cross bars, carbon fiber arrow shafts were selected after carefully removing the fletching, nock, and tips. These arrow shafts can be found on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PDAOHPQ. The padding is made from pipe insulation purchased locally, wrapped with warning tape for added protection. The design provides approximately 13.5cm of vertical landing clearance with a width of 16cm between the skids. Printed with 20% infill in PLA, this landing skid system is designed to break first and absorb the impact of hard landings, protecting the quadcopter. With a total weight of 64g (56g for the printed parts), this rig features arrow shafts and 3D printed components. Testing has shown that even in a 40-foot fall, the landing skid system can withstand significant impact without damaging the quad. Print Settings: * Printer: MakerFarm i3v 10 * Rafts: None * Supports: None * Resolution: 0.2mm * Infill: 20% Design Process: The design was created using OpenSCAD software, allowing for precise control over the dimensions and structure of the landing skid system.
