F2 battery terminal cover
thingiverse
I wanted to protect the terminals on some lead-acid batteries when they weren't in use. So, I created this design and first tried printing it with ABS. It works fine, but removing it is a challenge. Next, I attempted printing with NinjaFlex filament. The print quality was a bit uneven and grainy due to my print settings - I'm still learning how to work with flexible materials. However, they function well and are easy to attach and detach. The textured columns on two outside corners were an initial attempt to add grip when experimenting with ABS. But when using NinjaFlex, these details became unnecessary. Still, I left them in the model. Note: These covers fit the larger F2 terminals, which are 0.25 inches wide, but they also work for the narrower F1 tabs measuring 3/16 inches. Both sizes have the same thickness, so they shouldn't fall off the F1 tabs.
