F150 Air Vent Bottle Holder
thingiverse
I frequently forget to remove a partially empty water bottle from my truck, which is usually parked in Southern California's sweltering temperatures. Occasionally, that warm or even scorching water becomes the only beverage option available. To address this issue, I designed a custom bottle holder that fits snugly into the air vent louvers, allowing cold air to circulate around the bottle and cool its contents. And yes, it works remarkably well - you might be astonished by the noticeable temperature drop. You could also consider using this holder for canned beverages. I recently updated the .stl file on July 27th with a new design that reinforces the arms, providing added stability to the device. However, I want to issue a warning: as of July 30th, I discovered that PLA+ is not suitable for use in closed cabs due to its inability to withstand the heat buildup. My holder, containing half a bottle of water, warped and bent due to the excessive heat generated within the cab without proper ventilation. To resolve this problem, I plan to experiment with ABS, hoping it will prove more durable under these conditions.
