F1 Style Wheel / Rim Housing - V2 70mm
thingiverse
This is a remake of the awesome wheel created by Acid44 at Thingiverse, with ID 3023908. I modified the design to use significantly less filament during printing and allowed for more buttons/displays to be installed if desired. Additionally, I removed the holes from the faceplate and bottom side. The design incorporates the following hardware components (including nuts): 4x M4x30mm Hex Socket Cap Head screws 5x M5-0.8 X 35mm Flat Socket Cap Screws 8x M3x12mm Hex Socket Cap Head screws Note that the sixth hole for attaching to a 70mm mount can either be left empty or utilize a shorter screw, designed to provide more room when installing a Nextion screen into the faceplate in the future. You will also need to drill a hole through the back of the rim for a cable quick disconnect or to run your USB cable out. I only included the body housing and faceplate, so you must download the grips from Acid44's design found at ID 3023908 on Thingiverse. The shifter mounting holes are designed to fit the shifters included in ialm's F1 wheel at ID 2971884. I find these shifters excellent as they are easy to print and do not require a large amount of filament. Credit for the look of the wheel goes to FreddiesUniverse, with Make ID 587669. Credit for the shifter paddles goes to Fox_85, at Thing ID 3025648. Credit for the Merc logo goes to conair83, at Thing ID 1552272. Credit for the AMG logo goes to Alperzor, at Thing ID 2530568.
