F1 Style Steering Wheel For G27/70mm Sim Racing Setup
thingiverse
QUICK IMPORTANT UPDATE: I just discovered a major mistake in my new files - I miscalculated the back length by about 1.5-1.75mm. Luckily, I've fixed it already and updated all other files to match. Sorry for those who printed it before now, but it'll still work perfectly fine. ----- Big update time! People have been waiting way too long, so here's what I've got: I remade the face and backplate in Fusion and added these new features: Original f3d file STL files for front, back, and full body STEP file Now you guys who've been dying to modify it can finally get started on your weird and wonderful projects. Sorry again for the huge wait - my GPU died, and life got pretty chaotic. But it's done now, so here you go! ------------------------- I've been working on this one for a while now. I designed a Formula 1 style steering wheel specifically for my Logitech G27 with a 70mm adapter. I'll try to break down everything you need to know to print and use this, at least for the G27. If I miss anything, just let me know in the comments. Wiring isn't too complicated, but I've included some details below to help you along. For assembly, you'll need M3 screws and nuts - I used M3x35, but 30mm might work too. The 35s stick out a bit at the back. You'll also need a 70mm adapter if you're using this with a G27 - there are plenty of options available, or you can get a machined aluminium one from eBay. The grips are okay as they are, but I've got giant hands, so I wrapped them in bicycle handlebar grip tape stuff. There are tons of options out there in all sorts of colors, so go wild! EDIT: I updated the files to STL, so Thingiviews should work now.
