UPDATE 3: I've upgraded the files to my v3 design, which incorporates an M4 bolt instead of M3 for mounting the handles, resulting in increased rigidity. I also discovered that using the slit-up handles introduces excessive play, so it wasn't a wise decision. Currently, I'm searching for the perfect spot to mount the paddle shifters; I'll update the files once I've found a suitable solution. I've printed the entire assembly with 50% infill and haven't thoroughly tested its durability, but it feels incredibly sturdy. Update 2: Here's a video showcasing the buttonplate + one handle while testing my Nextion display. The display is controlled using SimHub by Wotever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKzepApygx0 I'm also uploading the handles in two separate pieces, eliminating the need for support material and resulting in a more refined finish. Update 1: It appears that the handles require printing with either a good adhering brim or a raft to prevent adhesion and warping issues. I've tried printing one handle and encountered some problems, but it still feels very strong at 30% infill. I've also added a thicker button plate, measuring 4mm instead of 3mm, and countersunk the screw holes according to the DIN 965 standard. Some time ago, I decided to start designing an F1 wheel to use on my Thrustmaster TX wheel since I didn't like the existing Ferrari design. This one is modeled after the wheel found in the Mclaren MP4-28. I'm unsure if the handles can be printed without support material, but I intend to wrap them in handlebar tape anyway. The wheel is designed to mount on the 70mm bolt pattern found on the Thrustmaster adapter available here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:976223 Designed by Slowly, this adapter is an essential component for my project. I plan to either drill a hole in the adapter for the cable to pass through or attempt to edit the model. My goal is to integrate a 4.3'' Nextion display into the wheel, but I've included the Solidworks file for the button plate so anyone can modify it to their personal preferences. Feel free to share any suggestions you may have. Bill of Materials: * 6x M5 screws (to attach to hub) * 7x M310mm screws * 4x M320mm screws * 10x 7mm push-buttons (if larger buttons are needed, let me know) Print Settings: Printer: Tevo Tarantula Big Bed Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 50%
