F1 Formula one parameterized tyre/tire generator, configurable openscad
thingiverse
I was finally exhausted by Blender for creating three-dimensional models, I decided to give OpenScad a try for designing a customizable tire/tire for flexible filament printing, which also allows some text or other color on one side. So, the idea is to create it with a height of 30 mm, then add a stop in your slicer at that height, change the filament to a different color and the stripe or text will be added on top. It needs to sit on the flat area of the side, otherwise you'll have loose strings printed in air. I haven't printed one yet, I need to wait for different filaments to arrive. It takes quite some time to render if you use fonts, so be patient when hitting F6 in OpenScad. Let me know what you think or how I can improve it. Also on GitHub: https://github.com/skubo/OpenScadProjects UPDATE v1.2: Now a straight inner tire. Also added a fitting rim - haven't tested it yet, will be a very snug fit maybe you need to reduce the diameter of the wheel rim so the rubber tire fits.
