F/V Northwestern
thingiverse
I am merely sharing this work in progress, eager to collaborate and receive feedback. I discovered a 3D rendering of the F/V Northwestern using Google's advanced search features, then converted it from Sketchup to STL format. By experimenting with scaling and adding details not present in the original design, I created a unique model in Tinkercad. This project is far from perfect, but that's exactly what makes it interesting. The URL to the original 3D rendering is available for reference: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/991b0f19022a0233bb97258c2be2acca/FV-Northwestern Please note that I do not own this design; I simply utilized its wireframe shape. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with it. Update: After further experimentation, I removed the crane from the hull file and discovered that it can be printed separately. Unfortunately, attempting to print the crane on the boat proved challenging, as it was prone to breaking when removing supports. To achieve optimal results, I recommend printing the model with supports attached, particularly those extending from the bed in a "step out stern" configuration may cause issues.
