The F-31 Thunder Shark series is a hypothetical design based off of the Rockwell-MBB X-31, X-plane. The X-31 first flew in 1990 and was key to later development of advanced thrust vectoring technology. Roughly the same size as the A-4 Skyhawk and sharing some similar design themes, I created a the F-31 Thunder Shark has a fictitious light-attack aircraft - inspired by the old Janes ATF video game intro. This fictitious F-31 of mine would be designed primarily as an export fighter for US aligned nations operating the either the F-5 or A-4 line of fighters. It would also have the option of being carrier capable and would be an ideal replacement to nations using light fighters on medium-class air craft carriers. Its name is inspired by the cancelled replacement to the F-5, the F-20 Tigershark. I have created both single and double seat versions, as well as a basic model representing the A/C and B/D lines of the aircraft in addition to later upgraded variants reflective of an E/F version with a new engine - stealthy intake - two cannons - larger wing span - and increased "tech stuff" room on the spine. For scaling purposes - the A/B/C/D variants are each roughly 40ft long or 12.2 meters. The E/F variants are about 41.5 ft long or 12.4 meters. Please note all of my aircraft are clean - as in there are no weapons mounts or weapons - if this is something you guys want added let me know. I place this model out for free - please do not re-produce for profit or resale in anyway. If you wish to use my models in a project please credit me with creation of the model. If you have questions please reach out to me on Cults. Thank you!
