The F-22 Raptor is a single-seat, twin-engine stealth tactical fighter aircraft designed specifically for the United States Air Force (USAF). The USAF's Advanced Tactical Fighter program led to its development as an air superiority fighter with additional roles in ground attack, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence. Lockheed Martin serves as the prime contractor responsible for most of the F-22's airframe, weapon systems, and final assembly.
