UPDATE March 16, 2019: Simplified the model by using only the bottom two screws for easier printing and reduced plastic waste. The shorter version prints faster without compromising performance. This is a remake of misterpepper's outstanding "Ender 3 EZ Vent Upgrade" design. The original featured severe bridging at both air outlets that led to sagging and reduced airflow quality. Multiple horizontal elements were removed from the ducting, which caused bridging issues. Vertical support blades were added inside both air outlets to eliminate bridging, improve directional airflow, and prevent deformation. This design prints perfectly with no supports needed and only a skirt. It also reduces waste by printing a single high-quality duct. NOTE: When installing, use only the bottom two screws to maintain the duct's alignment. Print the fan duct upright on your bed with a high-temperature PLA/PLA+ or ABS/PETG material for added temperature security. I achieved best results with PLA. Ensure your fan is set at 60% or higher after the first layer to prevent warping during long prints and enhance overall print quality. Planned updates include integrating a mini-LED light for illuminating prints, and potentially designing a version compatible with 5015 fans. If you have design suggestions, let me know.
