Please ensure to lay the straps flat on your print bed prior to printing. No supports or brim are required. I have redesigned and combined several common surgical mask ear strap designs, resulting in a new one that utilizes less material and prints quickly on an Ender 3 with a 0.8mm nozzle (or a 0.4mm nozzle). The straps are completely flat but thick enough at 1mm to feature rigid hooks while still being flexible for conforming to a user's head. Currently, I can fit nine of these straps at a time on an Ender 3 bed and they print in 45 minutes using the following settings with a 0.8mm nozzle (stock Ender 3 hotend) and a 0.28mm layer height. You can increase the layer height, but I find that 0.28mm provides a total of four layers which covers minor areas of under-extrusion well. I include a two-line skirt to ensure good filament flow before the first strap is printed. They also print nicely with a 0.4mm nozzle, though you might want to decrease your layer height slightly. I have also printed these even faster at 0.4mm layer height, but I found the 0.28mm to have a better surface finish. Feel free to print these in mass quantities for donations to hospital workers, but please do not sell them without prior permission. General Cura print settings for a Creality Ender 3 with stock hotend and 0.8mm nozzle: Layer height: 0.28 Initial layer height: 0.28 Line width: 0.82 Wall line count: 2 Top/bottom layers: 3 Infill: 25% - Doesn't actually matter, there won't be any infill. Set to 100% if you like. Temperature: 210 C (Hatchbox PLA) Bed Temperature: 60 C Flow: 110% Print speed: 60mm/s generally, 30mm/s for walls, 15mm/s for top/bottom layers, 25mm/s for initial layers.
