Eyetooth Gaming Keypad
thingiverse
This design was born out of my passion for gaming and the frustration of losing my trusty Ideazon Fang gamepad. None of the current gamepads meet my expectations, lacking in features or priced too high to justify a purchase. To create this custom solution, I drew inspiration from Cherry MX style keys. For the prototype, I opted for Gateron clear keys, but feel free to choose the style that suits your preferences best. The top and bottom components are securely fastened together with 20mm long screws measuring 3mm in diameter. To print the design, I recommend using either three or four walls without any support structures. Support is actually built into the design for added convenience. The side openings feature removable supports, while a thin layer of plastic can be easily drilled out or pushed through to create countersunk holes. To ensure a perfect fit, test pieces are included in the package. Simply push the switches from the top and they should snap securely into place. However, if they don't stay put, you can always secure them with hot glue. The "Top.stl" file uses cheap 3mm inserts sourced from eBay for added stability. On the other hand, "Top No Inserts.stl" allows you to screw the 3mm screws directly into the plastic, although this option remains untested. For a 39-key variant, consider using the "Bottom Dual Side.stl" file, which features buttons on both sides.
