Eyes shield
thingiverse
Easy-to-make and quick-to-print 3D eyes/face shield features a comfortable, ergonomic design that adapts seamlessly to the user's head profile. This innovative shield stands out from other popular designs due to its simple yet effective layout, allowing for long-term wear with an excellent grip on the head. The frame can be paired with a standard A4 (8.5"x11") transparent sheet of PVC/PET flexible material, measuring 0.2-0.25 mm in width. However, we highly recommend cutting the sheet according to the design provided in the attached PDF file for optimal adjustment and protection. This shield is perfect for science education settings where occasional splashes are a concern, as well as for DIY projects and emergency situations during COVID-19 alerts when proper equipment is not available. Wearing it with glasses or sunglasses behind does not affect its performance. The 3D model can be printed in approximately 100 minutes (1:40 hours) at a speed of 60 mm/s with a 0.2 nozzle, resulting in an 11g weight using PLA filament from brand bq. A single A4 transparent sheet can yield two cuts for the eyes shield. To achieve a perfect fit, we recommend drilling symmetrically 1 cm below the top edge of the frame, aligning with the steps provided. A standard desk drill is sufficient for this task. For reference, see the attached picture illustrating the design. We welcome any questions or suggestions you may have regarding this project.
