Eyeglass temples earpiece has been designed specifically for "Freefit" frames. The Y model features a slightly stronger design, providing a wider fit. In contrast, the Z model is tailored to fit snugly against the body. Printer Settings The printer used for this project is the QIDI X-ONE. Raft settings are enabled to ensure proper adhesion during printing. Supports are also generated to maintain structural integrity throughout the print. Resolution is set at 0.1mm for high precision and detail. Infill density is optimized at 80% for optimal strength and weight balance. Notes The material used for this project is PLA, a popular choice for 3D printing due to its ease of use and versatility. Forming was achieved through the application of heat, allowing for precise control over the final shape. Design Process This design was created from scratch with the goal of incorporating strong hinges and stoppers. Initially, I started by remixing an existing design to suit my specific needs. However, I soon realized that a custom fit was necessary to accommodate my eyeglass frames, which require a wide range of motion. Using 123D Design software, I carefully measured and designed the temple from scratch, taking special care to ensure precise joints and a secure fit.
