Eyeglass Case - Magnetic Latch

Eyeglass Case - Magnetic Latch

thingiverse

I crafted an eye-catching eyeglass case that set me apart from the crowd by designing one myself. I chose Ø5mm x 3mm neodymium magnets for the latch and two M3 x 40mm long screws with nylon lock nuts for the hinges to provide a secure hold. A thin foam sheet was glued inside the case as a lining, carefully cut using a printed template that matched the shape of the case perfectly. Either of the two files can be used to create a case; the only variation is the design on the bottom panel. Both files print well without any supports needed (I wouldn't recommend using supports on the patterned area). A color change at Z = 1mm was made to highlight the pattern, and it was printed with the patterned side facing downwards on the bed for a smooth finish.
