Eyeball with insert for puppet
thingiverse
70mm round eyeballs designed specifically for use in a rod puppet or mechanical device can be printed using ABS material for a smooth finish. The front eyeball features an optional recess that accommodates a 38mm ROUND Clear Glass Dome Cabochon, allowing for the placement of a light source and image behind it to create a lifelike iris effect. A rear indent is designed to hold 6mm springs, which are easily inserted into place. For better understanding, refer to the example photo provided. The pivot mechanism is engineered to work seamlessly with a 6mm dowel. Viewers can get an idea of how these eyeballs will be used in a video featuring a puppet before the cabochon cutout was added (see link: https://imgur.com/gallery/7tE2AOa). Additional features include side and middle mounts, as well as a rear mechanical component. The rear mech is designed to securely hold 6mm springs, which are then attached to the back of each eyeball for stability. Side and middle mounts allow for easy attachment of 6mm rods for added support and versatility. Eyelids were carefully crafted to fit the unique curve of my puppets; however, you may need to adjust them to suit your specific needs.
