I crafted this solution to tackle two primary issues beyond simply generating darkness around the viewfinder. Firstly, I predominantly utilize the viewfinder of these cameras, necessitating a constant display while employing the eye sensor. The issue arose when shooting, as I would frequently lose the viewfinder's display. To address this, I incorporated a tab that interrupts the sensor's functionality, allowing me to keep the viewfinder consistently on. When I require visibility from the LCD, I simply retract the piece slightly until the screen illuminates. Secondly, the diopter dial is prone to being rubbed against various objects and losing its settings due to constant contact. This custom-made shield protects the dial from such interactions, ensuring that my settings remain intact.
