I utilize this test to identify under-extrusion or over-extrusion issues with freshly loaded filament. This item can be printed solidly at 100% density, examining for full infill coverage and varying extrusion rates as it prints, or hollowed out lightly, then checking for a consistent smooth surface finish on the top layer. The dimensions of this part can also be carefully evaluated.
