EXTRUDIMUS PRIME

thingiverse

When I first stumbled upon Thingiverse, I was awestruck and left speechless by someone's incredible Optimus Prime original, which they proudly declared their masterpiece. I then discovered another innovative idea from the Makerbot team - a transforming robot that turned into a 3D printer resembling the replicator. Both of these ideas were worth downloading and setting up a fresh spool. I still have both prints sitting on the raft where they finished printing two years ago, because I didn't have all the necessary nuts and bolts to assemble them properly. This was due to my lack of preparation, so I decided to put in the effort to create a single print that's fully assembled. All I had to do was break away the supports and transform it into its final form. As Makerbot has chosen to price most of their printers at extremely high price points, which inevitably stifles creativity and overall productivity, I modeled this transformer after Prusa-type models, which are 100 times more affordable. All the pieces related to 3D printer movement actually work. The heated bed will move if you can manage the correct support settings, even the hotend moves. The head locks into place and still allows for shoulder movement. Enjoy! ------------------DISCLAIMER------------------ The STL file is not color-coded and is suitable for any printer. -x3G color print file- This file is only for double-hotend printers.
