Extruder ribbon roller
thingiverse
I added a Sprite Pro extruder to my CR-10, and the cable is so long it could go places I don't want it to go. I laid this U-bracket and 2x rollers out so the cable feeds thru it. The roller assembly also swivels to avoid tangles. It mounts to the old Bowden extruder plate. You'll need: A 5mm tap to thread the thick side of the bracket A drill bit to clean up the holes in the thin side A 3mm tap to thread the bottom hole- I used the outside one since it goes deeper- or just a drill bit for a sheet metal screw 2x 5mm x 40 screws to hold the rollers in place, and a 3mm x 10 (or similar sheet metal screw) to attach it to the old extruder plate. 1x 3mm x 10 screw or similar size sheet metal screw. These rollers are 10mm OD and 5.5mm ID. They can be drilled out to use 6mm screws if desired via a 1/4" bit. Directions- Tap holes in thick side to 5mm-08 Tap or drill bottom hole to 3mm-05 or for sheet metal screw Clean out holes in thin side with drill bit for clearance Install lower roller only Install bracket to extruder base plate or other desired location. Do not make it so tight it can't swivel- it was designed to swivel. Place ribbon cable over lower roller Install upper roller Make sure rollers spin freely and assembly rotates OK
