Extruder Replacement Tension Arm GeeeTech Prusa i3
thingiverse
As evident from the attached image, a critical failure occurred in the tension arm on my extruder. In anticipation of this issue, I had previously sourced a replacement part, but decided instead to design and build an upgraded version. To enhance the structural integrity of the roller bearing axle shaft, I selected a piece of 1/8" brass round bar from my local hobby store. Cutting it slightly longer than the width of the arm allowed me to insert the bearing and roller securely. The brass shaft was then inserted, followed by a process where I used a hammer to flare out the ends of the rod. The resulting component is now attached, along with an AutoCAD .dwg file for further refinement as needed.
