I'd spent countless hours perfecting my e-steps, finally creating this useful tool. You simply insert a bowden/reverse bowden into one end, then feed the printer from the other (you can also put it in a bowden feed to the extruder). To use the tool, carefully mark the filament with a fine pen in the first window. Next, feed a known distance - 10mm is a good starting point, while 50mm allows for more precise adjustments. If you feed 10mm and the mark stops one window too far along, your extrusion multiplier is 20% too high (2mm/mark, 10+2 = 12). Feeding 50mm and being a half mark too low indicates a 1/50th or 2% error. In the photo, I show a 4% discrepancy (2mm/50mm). You can leave this tool in the printer's feed permanently, though there may be some minor drag. The screw hole allows you to hang it from the printer - I keep mine mounted most of the time, simply running the filament through it when calibration is needed.
