Extruder e-step Calibration Fixture

Extruder e-step Calibration Fixture

This device makes calibrating your extruder's E-steps incredibly easy. It can be used on direct drive extruders, Bowden tube extruders, and even remote direct drive extruders as long as you have access to the top of the extruder where the filament feeds in. The results are consistently accurate. At its core is an affordable digital caliper that I prefer due to their lightweight plastic/CF construction. You can find them on Amazon in the US at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LW1V1B1/ref=dp_sp_detail?psc=1. These calipers measure to 0.1mm precision, which is sufficient for this task. You can use standard steel calipers as well but they may be more difficult to maneuver. Print the Caliper Mount.stl and the matching Filament Guide (1-75 or 2-85) that corresponds with your printer model. I've also included STEP files if anyone wishes to modify the tool. The g-code script for 1.75mm extruders is already included in the files, but I don't own a 2.85mm printer so testing it would be ideal. If someone wants to test it out, let me know what happens and whether the 1.75mm script might extrude too quickly for a 2.85mm extruder.
