Extruder Dual Balance cover for UM2 upgrade
thingiverse
You can find my latest fan cover design for the Dual Balance system, but it also works with standard Dual extruder or a single extruder using the "original file" type. I tested this design using the Ultimaker original Dual firmware on my Ultimaker 2 and Dual Balance system in dual extruder mode. You can use either 3 x 5v-fan or 2 x 12v-fan. The idea is to utilize two 5v-fans to extract more heat, which refreshes the head with its two nozzles, as shown in the last picture (head 1 at 210 degrees and head 2 at 27 degrees, with a room temperature of 22 degrees). I'd like to thank the Tinker team for their work on the firmware! You can find more information about the Tinker firmware here: https://community.ultimaker.com/topic/15939-tinker-firmware-introduction/?page=3&tab=comments This design was created with small 12v fans, measuring 25x25mm, but it can also be used with standard 30x30mm fans. I've already produced 20 prototypes using the Dual Balance system. If you're interested in this model, please send me a message. When there are 20 makers who need this design, I'll manage production and do my best to help all makers involved. You can also visit our website at https://6maker.com!
