I decided to upgrade my extruder due to excessive forces being applied. To achieve this, I opted for a high-strength metal version that integrates both the extruder and motor components. Additionally, it can support a 60x60mm axial fan for cooling the motor and filament. All components can be secured with M3 screws. The recommended product is available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Reprap-Bulldog-Bowden-Extruder-Filament/dp/B01FD1K3GQ/ref=sr_1_8?s=ce-de&ie=UTF8&qid=1496173778&sr=1-8&keywords=Metal+extruder Updates: With version 1.5 (bowd_extr_mainv1_5.stl), I improved the main airflow channel and closed unnecessary gaps. I also designed M3 nuts that automatically secure in place, making it easier to change filament and fans. With version 2 (bowd_extr_mainv2.stl), I added a small air channel piece to enhance cooling and direct airflow. This design is specifically tailored to work with my filament system.
