Extruder Camera Mount
thingiverse
This project has been a labor of love for me, and I'm confident that there are many ways to refine the design to make it even better. Feel free to take it apart and put it back together in your own unique way - I'd be happy to share the Fusion files if you need them. The setup is quite straightforward: a magnetic extruder mounted raspberry pi cam designed specifically for the CR10S Pro, which aligns itself automatically with the nozzle tip. This allows me to get up close and personal with the first few layers of a print, ensuring that the foundation is solid. The design consists of two main parts held together by M2 12mm hex bolts. I opted for an extra-long camera cable to give the raspberry pi some breathing room next to the printer. To illuminate the extruder area, I added a USB LED light strip - it's a simple yet effective solution. I've taken inspiration from other mounted solutions out there, but I wanted to create something that was sleek, accurate, and clutter-free. I printed the final version using Formlabs durable resin, but you can use any material that suits your needs. While this design might not be the most print-friendly, it gets the job done with impressive results: a sharp image that captures every detail of the printing process. I'm eager to hear your thoughts and see how you choose to remix this project - let's get creative! Check out the video here: https://youtu.be/KtYh-HA4tBY
