Extruder Calibrator/bolt measure
prusaprinters
This was actually designed for the Voron printers but it will probably work for others. I haven't tested it on any others though.I wanted a ruler to easily and repetitively mark the filament at 120mm and then measure the actual extruded filament afterwards to calibrate the e-step. So I made this. I know there are others out there, like Heersert but it doesn't have the millimetres markings, only centimeters. Also, I wanted it to be completely flush on both ends so I don't have to remove the filament or the PTFE tube from the extruder to make measurements. This can also be used to measure screws as I just found out. There's a groove on the side with the measurements as close to it as possible for easier reading. This was designed for 1.75mm filament. I recommend printing it on a higher resolution. I chose 0.15mmI also found this was perfect for measuring the length of bolts/screws. I have a big bag of mixed screws from over the years. I use to use my digital calipers to measure them but this work like a charm. It's simple and quick. See the images for reference.
