Extruder Calibration Tool

Published on August 7th, 2013 - This tool has been replaced by Version 2 of the extruder calibration device available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:114614. The original version was developed to assist in the calibration process for Felix Printer's extruder, as measuring filament accuracy with callipers proved challenging. It features two flat surfaces that simplify measurements using vernier callipers. This tool is easy to install and remove without removing any filament from the extruder; simply insert the filament into the top piece and proceed with calibration as usual, measuring between the top and bottom surfaces. Although still requiring some improvements, it performs well. It's designed for 1.75mm filament and has a snug fit to ensure filament stability until further adjustments are made. Initially developed for Felix v2 Printer (http://www.felixprinters.com), this extruder calibration tool should work with other printer models as well, but minimal support is required during printing.
