Hi everyone, currently studying mechatronics engineering, working on a project to upgrade my old RepRap Mendel. My goal is a low-cost upgrade that strengthens the structure and allows for high-quality ABS printing. For this project, I've been using 123D Design software, which is free, and have uploaded the design files so you can download and modify them as needed. I'm still learning the process, so your feedback, recommendations, and commands are much appreciated. For the past week, I've been busy with school assignments, but managed to add a part feed tube (PTFE) to the feeding system. Instead of letting the filament go directly into the extruder gear, I've designed it to bypass the feed tube, which will improve pulling when the axes move. Next, I'll be working on adding a dust filter by passing the filament through a soap sponge for added protection. You can find pre-made feed tubes online with throats that connect to the tube, but I wanted to try this approach without using them. Here's a link to the tube I'm referring to: http://www.banggood.com/2mmx4mm-White-Teflon-Tube-Feeder-Pipe-with-2pcs-Feeding-Throats-1_75mm-Filament-p-1009752.html Print Settings: Printer: Mob 3D Printer Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 1.5mm Infill: 50% Notes: I'm using ABS, which is more reliable and durable than PLA. The temperature settings are 215 degrees Celsius for the extruder and 60 degrees Celsius for the bed, depending on your printer and material type. I've generated G-code with Cura software.
