Extruder 1
myminifactory
The first modification I made on my 3D printer prototype was the extruder. The one purchased from "Ali" MK8 wasn't up to par. The clicking of a stepper motor caused the nozzle temperature to rise above optimal, reducing the printer's performance. Pro-level printing with a 0.3mm nozzle was out of the question. The 52 N * cm torque of the 17HS8401 stepper motor fell short for a gear roller with an 11 mm diameter. Furthermore, there was a tendency for filament wringing due to the large distance between the toothed roller and the bowden tube inlet. I decided to build a new extruder with a reduced roller featuring a 7.5mm diameter at its teeth tops, which promised nearly a 1.5-fold increase in force. This extruder has worked flawlessly for over 1000 hours. The design proved well-balanced, the engine and toothed roller traction were almost equal. Filament wringing did not occur, refueling was quite convenient. As a result, only 20 grams of filament solved the problem. Files: Ex1-01.STL - Enclosure, Ex1-02.STL - Cover, Ex1-02h.STL - Cover option with increased height gaps to accommodate the lever, Ex1-03.STL - Lever, one-piece with plastic thread for adjusting screw, Ex1-03a.STL and Ex1-03b.STL are the two halves of the lever to be glued together, with space for installing an ordinary M3 hexagon nut.
