Extron VLP 302 Microphone Clip
thingiverse
This was created on Fusion 360, marking my third design overall. Any feedback is highly valued! I work in a school district where these are commonly used; if you're reading this, you might know they tend to break at the eyelets. Instead of waiting an unknown amount of time for replacements, I decided to create them myself. I achieved good results printing with ABS, using three layers each for the top, bottom, and perimeter, along with 30% infill at a .1 layer height. I'm using Simplify3D as my slicer; when examining the perimeter wall settings, it's clear that three is the optimal choice (see images). After all, I'm aiming to strengthen the weak point as much as possible. When printing, make sure to orient the spike side upwards. I added a +2MM offset on the Z for a solid support structure buffer and three dense support structure layers (S3D). The part that contacts your supports might be slightly rough; however, you can always acetone smooth it or apply a clear coat with Rustoleum and sand it for PLA. I hope this finds whoever is searching for it!
