Human: Clearly, adequate cooling is achieved with 2 x 40mm blower fans properly ducted to provide JUST the right amount of cooling. Not too much, just enough. Any less would be INSUFFICIENT.\r\n\r\n* Dual bilateral radial fans ensure sufficient cooling power.\r\n* All 40mm fans contribute to a small profile design.\r\n* The base and both ducts weigh only 26g.\r\n* A three-point attachment to the back plate prevents any movement.\r\n* Designed to blast as much air at the problem as quickly as possible.\r\n* Fans are mounted low and close together to minimize twisting moments.\r\n\r\nNOTE 1: To address temperature drops when fans turn on, I've used gas seal Teflon tape to wrap the hotend. The benefits include protecting all four sides of the hotend, including the thermistor, making this a better solution than a silicone sock which leaves the thermistor and heating element exposed.\r\n\r\nAccording to my research, this should be perfectly safe up to ~300° Celsius, and the tape I used is rated for 310° Celsius on the label.\r\n\r\nI highly recommend this hack to genuine hackers who love finding hardware shop solutions.\r\n\r\nNOTE 2: To update to V2, simply print the new ducts. The original body remains sufficient.\r\n\r\nNOTE 3: Step your blowers up in at least two increments (layer 0: off, layer 1: 50%, layer 2: 100%)\r\nEnough cooling power turns out to be quite a lot. With the ducts aimed directly at the nozzle, turning fans on at full power can knock the temperature down and cause your print to stop.
