This is an oversized grip designed specifically for turning M8 screws into grip screws that can be easily manipulated by hand without requiring any tools and can withstand a significant amount of force. I created this as a replacement component for my Pallucco Fortuny lamp (an excellent design but poorly engineered). The lamp features two grip screws to secure the main reflector at an angle, yet the massive steel frame is so heavy that it would never remain in place and you simply cannot tighten the small screw any further by hand. This oversized screw is designed to be easily tightened and effectively accomplishes its purpose. This design consists of two printed components and necessitates a single M8 screw with a hexagonal head (standardized as DIN933) of preferred length, requiring an additional 4mm due to the thread remaining within the screw head. You can also scale the model to fit M6 or other threads by consulting the DIN933 specification to calculate the necessary scaling factor. Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker 3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: 100% for inner part, 25% for outer part Notes: Print the inner component with 5 shells and 100% infill as it must withstand substantial force in both axial and radial directions. The outer component does not require similar sturdiness and can be printed using default settings. Post-Printing Insert screw into small inner part with thread through hole, apply glue (I utilized Acrifix), push outer part on top, allow to dry, complete!
