Hello Thingiverse. Sorry it's been a while since I last posted, but I've been busy getting ready for my next Comic-Con by building my full-size Optimus Prime costume. I've decided to build the largest Delta printer ever made. It stands at an impressive 4'6" tall and 34" wide, with a print area of 450x450x450, give or take 50 mm in height. This massive machine is built out of 3/4" steel square tubing, ensuring maximum stability and strength. To power this behemoth, I'm using four 220x220 heat beds, each with their own 33amp power supply, as well as a single power supply for the board and hotend. You can find these on eBay for $14 each. In addition to the heat beds, you'll also need two 8'x1/8x1" aluminum strips for counter swap support, which can be purchased for $10 each. And don't forget the #8 self-drilling screws, which come in three sizes: 1'1/4", 3/4", and 1/2 inch. I've opted to use Fireplace Mortar to glue the hot beds to a sheet of 20"x20" 3/16 aluminum sheet. This provides a solid foundation for my printer's heat beds. You'll also need five standard 12vdc relays, which can be found on eBay for $6 each. Each relay will have its own fan to keep it cool, so make sure to plan your wiring accordingly. The magnetic effector and magnetic carriages are from Thingiverse, but I've modified the carrier carriage rail to wrap around the 3/4" tubing and prevent swaying. You can use the exciting wheels from your Kossel 800 Delta printer for this purpose. This build is still a work in progress, so expect items to be added or removed as needed.
