Let's get started with my first project using Blender - a free and open-source 3D creation software that has been gaining popularity lately. I've heard great things about its versatility and user-friendly interface, so I'm excited to dive right in. As I launch Blender for the first time, I notice how intuitive it looks. The layout is clean and easy to navigate, with a range of tools and features accessible from the main menu. I decide to start with a simple project - creating a 3D model of a house. I begin by selecting the "Cube" tool from the modeling tab. This will be the base shape for my house. I then use the "Extrude" function to give it some depth, creating a basic cube-shaped structure. Next, I add some windows and doors using Blender's built-in shapes, which are easily customizable. To add some texture to my model, I select the "UV Mapping" tool from the tools menu. This allows me to unwrap the 2D surface of my model onto a flat plane, where I can paint or apply textures as desired.
