I successfully removed the internal DVD drive from my Mac to make room for an additional hard drive. Next, I created a custom housing for the extra drive and purchased a SATA 2-USB adapter online from eBay. Using Google SketchUp, I carefully designed the enclosure to fit perfectly with the existing components.
