This is a custom-built external spool holder designed specifically to interface seamlessly with the Flashforge Inventor 3D printer, but it also has the potential to work flawlessly with the Flashforge Dreamer and the Dremel Idea Builder. To bring this project to life, you'll need a 5/8 inch round wood dowel of your desired length, as well as a piece of PFTE filament tube with precise dimensions: 3mm inner diameter and 4 mm outer diameter. The external spool holder is designed to hook and rest on either side of the 3D printer - be it left or right - allowing you to close the 3D printer lid even if only installed on one side.
