external Filament Cooling Fan 80mm Anet A8

I had a special 80mm fan adapter for my Anet A8 that made it way quieter than with the small standard fan sitting directly on the extruder. However, this added weight and noise, as the X Axis Motor had to work much harder due to the heavy fan mount. The print quality also suffered from this extra weight. Then I came up with a clever idea - mounting the 80mm fan to the frame and routing the airflow to the extruder via a pipe from my local hardware store. This solution was perfect, as it eliminated the need for the heavy fan mount. The pipe I chose had an external diameter of 15mm, which worked out great for this project. I designed the pipe-to-extruder connector with the Spira Fan Duct in mind, so it should fit perfectly once printed - check it out on Thingiverse! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2133328
