External control mod for Belrius's CCG box
thingiverse
I really love the clarity of Belrius's original design, but thought it would be cool to control the open and close mechanism by sliding out through the face plate. The STL already includes everything you need for one side. You can easily print this out twice to replace both sides quickly.\nAdditionally, you might want to make the knob a bit larger in diameter so that it covers the entire slide opening completely. I didn't do that on this design, but it's an easy modification.\nhttps://youtu.be/kqBV_52noWU\nPrint Settings:\nRafts: No Rafts Are Needed Supports: No Supports Required Infill: Print With A Solid Infill Percentage of 20% Notes: Just follow these settings to print successfully :)\nPost-Printing: You can see from my pictures where I added a decorative little plate to the button. Purely cosmetic, but it adds some flair.\nHow I Designed This:\nHonestly, I just measured the amount of movement in the original design (22mm of vertical travel). I removed the branding from one of the existing faceplates, and cut out a hole in the side that's 8mm wide by 22mm tall. Then, I drilled a 6mm hole into the racklift centered at its lowest resting point. The button has a 6mm plug that slides nicely into place in the hole.
