Extension Handle for Lee APP
thingiverse
This extension significantly enhances comfort and speed when using the Lee Automatic Processing Press (APP). To attach it, I replaced the existing bolt and nut with a 1/4-20 x 4" bolt from Lowe's, along with two washers, a regular nut, locknut filler, and a nylon lock nut. Extending the threaded portion about 1/4" allowed for enough thread to secure the lock nut effectively. Both PLA and PETG work well in this design. Assembly is straightforward: A washer goes against the bolt's hex head, the bolt is inserted into the outer handle portion, another washer and bolt are tightened to the end of the thread, then passed through the Lee handles where the locknut filler and lock-nut are secured. The key is finding just enough clearance between the handle and two washers for smooth spinning. A bit of grease also helps keep it running smoothly. As expected, it's ambidextrous, so you can attach it to either side. I found the most support and comfort came from wrapping my thumb and forefinger around the Lee handle, while resting the rest of my hand on the extension. The included SCAD design allows for customization to fit your specific hand size. Update: A small 7/16" wrench is now included to hold the bolt in place while tightening the lock nut.
