Extension for split filament spool

Extension for split filament spool

This is a custom extension for a threaded filament spool. The design aimed to accommodate more filament, as the standard spool width was already nearing the maximum capacity of my printer. To achieve this, I lengthened the spool instead of increasing its width. This modification adds approximately 5cm to the original dimension, perfectly suiting my Filawinder setup. I would like to extend gratitude to the original creator for sharing their CAD files. In a similar gesture, I have included the corresponding 123D file for this extension. **Print Settings:** * **Printer Brand:** LulzBot * **Printer:** Mini * **Rafts:** Doesn't Matter * **Supports:** Doesn't Matter * **Resolution:** 0.1mm * **Infill:** 20% **Design Notes:** While I utilized a 0.1mm layer height primarily to test a PETG profile, there's no apparent reason why using a taller layer height would cause an issue. This extension was designed by combining a cylinder from the original file with the intersection operation to remove excess material, leaving only the threaded center sections. These sections were then merged back-to-back to create the extended part. To improve print quality and reduce support needs, a cone was subtracted from the female threaded joint's central area.
