Extension Cord Spool I've got plenty of short and affordable two-wire extension cords, ranging from 6 to 15 feet in length. You can see in the photo how my 4-inch diameter spool holds a 15-foot cord with ease. The sections are substantial, measuring around 1/8 inch thick, since they'll be subject to rough handling out in the garage. To print the larger version of this design, it took me 110 minutes using Afinia's defaults, but I opted for 0.40 layer thickness to cut down on print time, resulting in 87 grams of ABS material used. Keep in mind that approximately half of either version's ABS is wasted due to raft and support, but Afinia software suggests this could be reduced by as much as 50% if printed edge-first – though I'm not inclined to try it myself. I prefer the standard horizontal orientation. A note on these files: they're based on SAE/Imperial measurements. When imported into print software, they might appear smaller than expected. To adjust them correctly for metric printer software, you'll want to scale up by a factor of 25.4.
