Extension Arm for Micro Limit Switch
thingiverse
This thing makes the arm of a micro limit switch longer. I created it to make it easier for a servo motor to flip the switch. I attach the micro switch to the servo motor using the "Servo Turnout Motor for Model Railroads" thing (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1543113). If the servo motor horn pushes the switch arm farther from the switch arm's fulcrum, it takes less torque to activate the switch. This keeps the motor from burning out due to constantly pushing against the rail and against the switch, especially since I have mounted two switches together on one side of the motor mount. To match the servo motor horn to the extended end of the micro switch, I mount the "Servo Turnout Motor for Model Railroads" cap backwards on the base so the switches are farther away from the horn.
