Extensible filament holder for 6mm acrylic frame
thingiverse
I like the way Sunhokey 3D printers handle filament spools, but I made an easy holder to change that.\nThe design is split into two pieces for a bit more flexibility when changing positions - if you move the small piece, it can fit perfectly into the main piece's bolt hole.\nThis holder uses the same holes as Sunhokey for holding LCD frames, which seem stronger than the weak connection they were originally designed for.\nTwo M3 20mm bolts and nuts hold everything in place.\nJust a couple of warnings: The 6mm acrylic frame might not be able to handle much weight before cracking, so check your spool carefully when first using it.\nThe other thing is that this holder isn't compatible with tall prints - the spool can touch your piece if it's too high. But don't worry, it won't interrupt the x-carriage movement (see the pictures).\nPrint Settings:\nPrinter Brand: RepRap\nPrinter: Sunhokey\nSupports: Yes\nResolution: 0.20\nInfill: 25\nNotes: I printed this with support, in a vertical position.
