This is a replacement Xbox One joystick, that's been specifically designed to be extended. Update: To all the amazing people who've already downloaded this, I've got some bad news - it needed a major overhaul. It's now updated and ready for printing by you! Note: If your print doesn't work out as planned, please shoot me a message right away! Note 2: And if it does print successfully, make sure to let me know if it breaks down on you - I need feedback for an upcoming project. Print Settings Printer: New Matter MOD-t Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: Go with the best quality setting your printer can handle! Infill: I recommend using 90% infill with a layer height of .15 Notes: Keep an eye on this print every 20 minutes or so to prevent warping of the base. But trust me, it's worth it - the end result is amazing! Post-Printing Sanding: Make sure to sand down the shaft and dome to get a smooth finish. How I Designed This I used Autodesk Inventor 2016 to create this design. I opted for the educational edition of Autodesk Inventor 2016, which allowed me to export it as an STL file for public use. Overview and Background Joystick: This is a replacement part for the Xbox One controller. If you're curious about how to disassemble one, just look up some YouTube tutorials! Lesson Plan and Activity I'm not entirely sure what this is for, but here's where I'd put it. Materials Needed A 3D printer and the necessary tools for disassembling a controller. If you've got a 3D printer, you're good to go! You can find all the necessary tools on Amazon. Skills Learned How to 3D print a joystick! Disassemble a controller with ease! Preparation Glue: You might not need glue at all, depending on your 3D printer's quality. But if you're using a New Matter MOD-t like I am, yes - you'll likely need some.
