Extended Under Desk Laptop Mount with Screws
thingiverse
I like the mount by VariablePenguin, but my laptop isn't perfectly aligned from edge to edge - it starts tilting up a couple centimeters before reaching the end. This version is longer, designed to provide better support for the laptop. I've also incorporated screw holes for mounting instead of relying on glue. Alternatively, you can opt for both methods. The screw holes are 11 mm wide initially, then gradually narrow down to 8 mm, with a 5 mm reduction towards the end. For reference, you can find the original version featuring screw holes here as well. Another variation includes cable handles, capable of accommodating cables up to 10-11 mm in diameter. When printing this design, be sure to utilize supports and brim, blocking the screw holes to prevent any issues. This can be achieved using software like Cura. The mount is oriented horizontally for printing purposes, aiming to enhance its overall strength. As a relatively new 3D printing enthusiast, I'd appreciate feedback on whether you believe it should be printed in a different orientation. Please note that this design has not undergone any testing or validation - use it at your own risk, and only if you're confident in its ability to hold your laptop securely.
