Extended (Micro) SD Card Reader
thingiverse
I was eager to utilize one of Thingiverse's designs for extending the flash card slot all the way up to the frame. However, when I received the card reader and attached ribbon cable from eBay, it was a much larger reader than I had anticipated. Fortunately, I had spare SD card adapters on hand that allowed me to make use of it. In fact, using the bigger, more substantial, and tactile package as a transport between laptop and printer has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The challenge that remained was to create an original minimalist bracket to firmly secure the 50x35x10mm reader to the top of the printer. Here is my design, which makes use of the existing top left-hand structural screw - the top right-hand screw holds my original minimal Anet A8 tool card (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4072997).
