Once again a very specific design for a very specific kind of application. My mum's closets wouldn't lock anymore, because the wood deformed over the years. As it would be VERY impractical (and ugly!) to set the lock in a new place, I opted for a solution, where the latch itself was replaced. And... that's the whole story. If you need the latch shorter, just shave it off with a blade after you've reinstalled everything in the closet, bit by bit.
