Extended Automated Build Platform
thingiverse
This modified version of MakerBot's Automated Build Platform accommodates larger prints by fitting two front screws from the standard MakerBot Replicator build plate; however, the back must be secured separately. This design aids research in genetic algorithms and evolutionary fabrication at Union College within John Rieffel's Evolutionary Fabrication Lab. Designed for 3/8-inch materials like acrylic or wood, the pieces can be customized to fit other materials by adjusting tolerances. The original Automated Build Platform components, including a heated PCB, can be transferred and attached if desired. The belt has been extended, allowing for replacement or extension with laminate sheets. No glue is necessary for assembly.
